What Megagrip does on uneven terrain
Megagrip is the compound Vibram fits to its top-end hiking soles, including for third-party brands. Its distinguishing feature is that it keeps its grip coefficient when the surface is wet, where standard rubber turns glassy. On a wet rock slab or a root, the difference is immediately noticeable. Combined with a five-toe construction that lets the toes spread and grip, you get active stability: the foot corrects itself instead of just absorbing impact. That's what makes the V-Alpha viable for hiking where a classic minimalist model would lose its footing.
