The Spidrwalk is the lineup's amphibious model. 3.7 mm Vibram Megagrip sole, drainage perforations, breathable upper that keeps debris out: it's designed for terrain where water is part of the route. It's the only model in the separated-toe lineup designed to go from dirt to river without changing shoes.

Crossing a riverbed in five-toe shoes
On wet rock, contact area decides everything. A rigid sole lands flat and slips as soon as the stone curves. A five-toe construction, on the other hand, lets the toes spread and mold to the terrain: the foot grips instead of just landing. Combine that with Megagrip, which keeps its grip in wet conditions, and you get a stability few shoes reach in a canyon or stream crossing. The perforations do the rest: water goes in, comes back out, and you keep moving without a sponge underfoot.

The women's version of the Spidrwalk uses the same construction in 9 sizes, 35 to 43. If your outings stay on dry, uneven terrain rather than in water, the V-Alpha fits the same Megagrip compound in a more versatile setup.
Which size to choose
In wet conditions, a too-large size lets the foot slide inside as soon as the textile gets wet. Aim for a snug fit and check our size guide. Compare with men's toe shoes.

How long does it take to dry?
The perforations promote quick air drying. Remove the insoles if your model has them and leave the shoe open.
Can it be worn for regular hiking?
Yes, it's designed for hiking on wet terrain and mixed surfaces.
Does sand get in?
The upper limits debris getting in, but a drainage model isn't sealed. Rinsing after coastal use is recommended.

This is my fifth pair of five-finger shoes. They're really comfortable. I've already worn them on mountain hikes and I have to say they performed really well.
