The Breezandal is the trail model for hot days. It fits the same 5.7 mm Megagrip sole and the same 3D Cocoon mesh as the Trailope, but in an upper designed to let air through. It's the model to pick from the separated-toe lineup when temperature becomes the limiting factor.

Ventilating without losing protection
The easy solution for ventilating an outdoor shoe is to open up the upper and sacrifice protection. The Breezandal tackles the problem from below: protection is moved into the sole, via the 3D Cocoon mesh that disperses the impact of stones and debris, which frees up the upper. So you keep the foot protected where it needs it, underfoot, while letting air circulate over it. On routes near rivers, lakes, and wet terrain, the whole shoe dries quickly and stays stable in changing conditions.

Is it a sandal?
No, it's a ventilated trail shoe. The five-toe construction and the 3D Cocoon mesh are those of a closed outdoor model.
Can you walk in water with them?
It's designed for environments near rivers and lakes. For regular immersion, the Spidrwalk and its drainage are better suited.
Does it hold up on steep climbs?
Megagrip provides grip on both dry and wet ground, including rock.

This is my fifth pair of five-finger shoes. They're really comfortable. I've already worn them on mountain hikes and I have to say they performed really well.
Bought to replace my old orange Bikila EVOs. Very satisfied, the fit matches my usual size and the support is great. Nice color too, I just wish there were a few more choices.
