Trailope Men's

The Trailope is the lineup's trail running shoe. Wing-shaped debris guard, 5.7 mm Megagrip sole, built-in 3D Cocoon system: it's the most protective model in the five-toe lineup, the one that lets you run trails without giving up ground feel.

3D Cocoon: protecting without cutting you off

The problem with minimalist trail running isn't the rocks you see, it's the sharp edges you land on at full stride. The 3D Cocoon system is a mesh built into the sole that spreads the impact of a sharp object over a wider area instead of concentrating it under one point of the foot. The result is clear: protection goes up without the sole getting thick enough to cut off ground perception. The wing guard on the upper rounds things out by blocking gravel and twigs from getting in — the real reason people cut long outings short.

The women's version of the Trailope uses the same construction. For outings in hot weather, the Breezandal fits the same 5.7 mm Megagrip sole and the same 3D Cocoon mesh in a noticeably more ventilated upper.

Which size to choose

On descents, the foot slides forward in the shoe. Too tight a size and your toenails will feel it. Measure and check the size guide, sizing up if in doubt. Also see the men's minimalist lineup.

Can you run a long trail in the Trailope?

It's designed for trail running on mixed terrain. Distance mostly depends on your adaptation to minimalist running, not on the model.

Does Megagrip hold up in mud?

It offers excellent grip on dry and wet surfaces. In deep mud, no compound makes up for the lack of long lugs.

Do you need a transition period first?

Yes. Running zero-drop on uneven terrain requires prepared calves.
